Most successful weblogs have a specific defined theme or, at the very least, a loosely defined area of interest. I expect this blog to have neither. This will be, exactly as it says, a blog of commentary and musings – on politics, business, law, culture, and everyday life. No, I won’t be discussing the arcane details of my daily existence – you won’t be hearing what I had for breakfast or what I drank after work – but I will be commenting on vastly divergent themes and issues. Above all, I expect to inspire some discussion and debate and maybe ignite a little fury along the way. This blog will be a forum to air my thoughts and also a medium through which others can respond.
This blog is long overdue. Over the last few years, I have written countless pieces that would be fit for a blog. Though they have seen readership in a variety of venues – Facebook notes, newspapers, magazines, and emails – they have never had a convenient, enduring home base, which is what I expect this page to be.
While I am inspired, and while I have some free time, I am going to shoot to churn out two posts a week – one longer post on the weekend and one midweek comment. Once the school year gets going, I will aim for one post a week, probably on Sunday.
If you are reading, be liberal about commenting. Writing is more rewarding when it elicits a response.
